How to turn a small pepper grinder
There are many good ways to make a pepper grinder. The late Tony Witham showed me
this method which I attempt here. It uses a wooden mandrel to ensure
concentricity of the parts and minimises wastage of material. The type of
pepper grinder or pepper mill mechanism I am using is shown here and is one of the mechanisms formerly sold in our online shop. You will have to modify the procedure for other designs of mechanism.
The material used should be at least 2,1/4 inch square and 3/4 inch longer than the planned height of the finished grinder.
