Point tool or pyramid tool. A chisel ground from 1/2" round HSS with a point in the form of a small pyramid with three cutting edges. M2 high speed steel.
Useful for all kinds of jobs that normally would be done with a skew. Vee cuts, beads, cleaning end grain of, say, a tool handle end and even planing cuts can be performed with less chance of a catch that with a skew chisel.
Can be called a three point or tri-point tool which is a bit odd as it only has one point (it does have three edges!)
Total tool length 425mm. Ash handle 250mm with brass ferrule.
