Supercut Universal Hollowing Tool
This is bigger tool than the Supercut 1/2" but otherwise very similar and all the pictures are of the 1/2" tool. This is a cutting tool not a scraper so it gives an excellent finish, superior to specialist hollowing tools twice the price. Cuts just like a gouge making curly shavings even in hard end grain wood. Cuts side grain too, for bowls as well as vases. Gets rid of rough grain in bowls in the same fashion as the "angletip" gouge.
Cutter head swivels to left and right so you can set it for effortless control of the tool even in awkward undercut areas. The cutter itself can be tilted so as to “shear cut” in either direction. It even comes with it's own grinding jig pin to make sharpening a doddle!
Tools are supplied with ash handle, cutter, grinding jig pin, hex keys and instructions. Cutter diameter is 5/8", shank is 5/8" square steel. Total tool length including ash handle is 32".

There is an optional extra outrider kit (shown below) available which prevents the tool from twisting in your hand. This consists of a clamp which attaches to the supercut shank and a steel rod which lays on the toolrest and prevents twisting. This makes the tool much easier to manage when the head is pivoted right round to the left - to do undercuts.
