| Most blanks are square section cut to 12", 18" or 24" lengths from 2" x 2" up to 4" square or they are prepared discs for turning. Discs are mostly kiln dried, planed on the face and protected by a wax coating on the periphery. | ||

| Many customers ask for suitable woods for chasing threads on the lathe. Lignum vitae, African Blackwwod and Boxwood are perfect but tend to be hard to get and are expensive. We also stock such woods as Anjan, Mopane, Tambootie and Muhuhu which thread well but are cheaper and easier to get in larger diameters. | ||

as the stock changes too quickly and you cannot order in our online shop - sorry. You are welcome to call at the
store and browse for blanks here. We will happily send wood by mail order if we can establish what you want and perhaps the best way to do that is to telephone 01787 237291 to discuss your needs. It is also possible to make up a parcel to a value specified by you - let us know as near as you can what types of wood and sizes you would like. We will charge postage at actual cost. This cost depends on your postcode so you need to ask us for a quote. We do not have the facilities to supply planed wood to cutting lists. |
